Monday, June 1

It's finally flip off day! May is over - man it seemed like a long month to me.

I'm getting ready to tap into my "Inner" Italian and cook rolled spinach lasagna. This is really something for me! There's not one drop of Italian blood in my body, Czech & Danish heritage.

I love to cook but nothing seems to turn out like I imagine it too. Could be that I have no sense of taste anymore. I made the mistake of watching the Food Network the other day and saw these being made and now I have to try them out. I get in trouble watching HGTV and Food Network - they get everything finished in a half an hour! Then it ends up taking me days and days to get my project finished.

We went and saw Star Trek last night - it was awesome! I'm a Trekkie from way back, Pat really enjoyed the movie too and he never really liked the original Star Trek or the other movies. Next on our movie list is Angels and Demons. We'll go see it this coming weekend.

The potty training the puppy isn't going very well! He'll go when he's outside but he still goes in the house. I'm going to have to shampoo the carpet this week, it creeps me out when it gets pee dirty.

I spoke with Rachel last night, our disagreement was just smoothed over like it never happened. Trouble is that she holds on to her hurts for years - I'm done as soon as the words are out of my mouth. So sometime in the next 10 years I'll be hearing about how I messed things up again. I have broad shoulders so I'm not too worried about it! Matter of fact, I really don't care!

I'm Confused!

I'm trying to figure out how to have a personal blog and one for my primitive dollies - Tattered and Torn Primitives. So far I'm not having very good luck. I'm not going to give up - but I may be bald from tearing my hair out doing this! This is what happens when senior citizens try to use the computer!

My dear brother-in-law was laid off from his job this week. I feel so bad for him. I was laid off earlier this year when the company I was working for just locked the doors and walked away. I've been depressed ever since then so I can't imagine what it would be like for the bread-winner of the family to be in that position. I guess it's different for Patrick (my hubby) because he was able to retire at 52 and get his pension from UPS. I remember how difficult it was for him changing careers at that age but everything has worked out well so far! And it will continue to work out, I refuse to believe that the economy can stay in the cellar forever.

Everyone is in a great mood around here - it finally warmed up and the sun came out. It was a banner day for me because I FINALLY got my hair cut.

Trying Again!

I'm finding that I have more time on my hands than I'd like so instead of just sitting around I'm going to get going on this blog thing!

Spring in Nebraska is great. The flowers are blooming and the vegetable garden is coming along. It's been cool, I can't believe that's it's the end of May and I haven't even turned on the air conditioner yet! I'm proud of myself.

Now I'm off to figure out this blogging! Wish me luck!
